Hello everyone,
At the start of April, your Australian Children’s Laureate Sally Rippin joined six other International Laureates and Reading Ambassadors at the International Children’s Laureate Summit at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
It was an incredible opportunity to share ideas and reflections on the state of children’s literature and literacy across the world.
“Having the opportunity to represent Australia at the International Laureate Summit was a once in a lifetime experience, both humbling and inspiring. It was so great to hear all the good work the other Laureates around the world are doing and to feel part of such an important network, each of us doing what we can to ensure all kids can be readers,” said Sally.
The Laureates and Ambassadors were also part of a public panel reflecting on the topic of ‘Why reading, and why now?’, and Sally later joined the Australian Ambassador Julianne Crowley at the Australia celebrations.
We will share more details outcomes and reflections in a special Bologna report soon, but below are some of the images from two incredible days.
