Enjoy this Success Story from Mornington Park Primary School.

It is important to note that the success rested on the fact that the principal and teachers did not get bogged down by focusing on one aspect of literacy teaching and learning, such as which kind of phonics program should be used. Instead of that narrow approach they accepted that students should learn about phonetic strategies to help them say and write words, but they should also learn many other strategies to help with this, and that all students should learn about EVERYTHING that the most effective readers and writers do in the act of understanding and enjoying the reading and writing of authentic texts.
