Indigenous Literacy Day – YouTube Live Premiere
Celebrating Language and Literacy
Wednesday 2 September at 12.30pm
This 45-minute celebratory event will go live on YouTube at 12.30pm. ILF Ambassadors Andy Griffiths, Shelley Ware, Gregg Dreise, Alison Lester, Josh Pyke, Natalie Ahmat, Jared Thomas and Anita Heiss, plus co-patron June Oscar AO and long-time ILF supporter, Archie Roach, will share their insights and stories of community engagement. And Jessica Mauboy will sing a stunning rendition of an 80s Australian favourite.
From Tiwi Islands and Jilkminggan in the Northern Territory and Bidyadanga in Western Australia, this is a rare window into the work of the Foundation and the value of language. Plus there is a special book reading of Yu sabi densdensbad? (Can You Dance?) by Cheryl Lardy in Kriol.
Subscribe to our Youtube Channel now and please share. With your help, we can make this the biggest Indigenous Literacy Day ever! If you can’t watch the Premiere it will stay on YouTube and you can watch at any time thereafter.
